Ripley’s Believe it or Not Surfers Paradise Australia
Paranormal Project was contacted by Ripley's Believe It Or Not Surfers Paradise regarding some strange occurrences that were happening within the museum. After sitting down with management and hearing the stories of staff seeing apparitions and one staff member saying her hair was moving when there was no breeze (like someone had walked past her really close, but no one was there). We toured the museum on a preliminary investigation to see where we would set up our equipment.
We went into this investigation with the usual rational thinking and due to the recent construction there, we really wanted to see if these strange occurrences were due to a more natural explanation but on the other hand all the artifacts in the Ripley’s museum are genuine and because it has been said that spirits can attach themselves to certain objects, we were very curious to see what the night would bring.
After planning out the placement of our equipment, we waited until Ripley’s had closed for the night to start our investigation. Due to the museum being somewhat underground this provided the best environment for our investigation as when the lights went out the museum was a very different place. It was a very quiet almost too quiet feeling at times, after an initial walkthrough of the museum, we paired up and explored the area, each pair conducting scientific and spiritual experiments in the different parts of the museum. Throughout the night we documented several strange occurrences, our EMF meter spiked a few times through the hallways however a more natural explanation was put forward as it may have been due to some wiring in the walls. Our walkie talkies also acted somewhat erratically, and while it could have been due to interference there seemed to be a few times when this “conveniently” happened. After reviewing the evidence, we cannot come to a solid conclusion as to whether Ripley’s is in fact haunted. Our physic on hand had experiences, one was with a little boy who was reported to be the spirit of one of the shrunken heads on display near the main entrance to the museum and another was a captain of a ship yet without solid proof to back this up we cannot make any conclusions with the evidence we gathered on the night. The evidence obtained on this investigation has been deemed inconclusive with the scientific evidence pointing more towards a natural cause for the phenomenon occurring however due to the authenticity and bloody history of some of the artifacts on display at Ripley’s, there is always a chance that we may need to revisit this location in the future.

Loma Linda Brisbane Australia
Loma Linda is located on the south east side of Brisbane in the suburb of Cleveland. Paranormal Project was lucky enough to go through twice on separate nights.
Loma Linda was built in the early 1930’s as a farm house for a local family. Later it was converted into a hospital and expanded to accommodate the growing number of patients and was decommissioned in early 2001. It is believed the hospital went through several different owners including an apparent cult. It is believed patients were exposed to electro therapy and some believe patients were also bathed upon the roof. Unfortunately very little information has been found to confirm the information that has been retrieved.
Loma Linda also has a personal affect on one of our investigators. Andrew’s aunt was a patient here during the late 1990’s and unfortunately died under mysterious circumstances. During our first visit we unfortunately did not find much activity to warrant the premises as haunted. Although psychics that were on scene did pick up the presence of an elderly lady, no scientific evidence could be ascertained.
On our second visit we set up video cameras and voice recording equipment in the old nurses quarters which have had reports of paranormal activity. whilst these were recording, we checked out the main hospital. A few orbs were picked up on camera and our guest mediums picked up the presence of the elderly lady again, No out of the ordinary experiences were recorded. On retrieval of the video and voice recording equipment, strange noises (bangs and knocks) were picked up on the voice recorders. Unfortunately as there was a couple living in the next unit, we had to dismiss this evidence as human interference.
As of late we can conclude that Loma Linda isn’t classed as haunted as the evidence collected doesn’t support the theory.
Tallebudgera Mental Asylum Gold Coast Australia
Probably one of the more popular urban legends to locals on the Gold Coast is that there used to be an old mental asylum up in the Tallebudgera Valley from around the 1920s - 1930’s and after it was closed the building remained there for close to 20 years before the building was demolished and the land was built upon. The theory behind this was that it was built out in the valley so it was more further away from civilisation. After finding out the location of the site Paranormal Project set out to find the truth behind this.
Upon investigating this location we soon realised that the story was just that, a story. Speaking to a member of the staff at the new location the history of the mental asylum was quickly debunked and a more realistic but not quite so horrific background on the location was given. Due to privacy reasons we cannot publish the whereabouts of this location as the owners have had trouble in the past with trespassers which has led to an upgrade of security on the premises. The photo’s we have to the right are a little dated and due to trespassers security was installed so the gates are no more. It is interesting though how a set of iron gates can create such fear and start a story that many people believed to be real. For this reason, many paranormal groups often set out to debunk myths and legends in order to get the truth.
This was classed as a urban legend, but a couple of photos taken at the location were a bit odd and could be of a paranormal nature.
Springbrook House Gold Coast Australia
This is probably one of the more popular haunted locations on the Gold Coast. For years this house has been the setting for some very spooky stories and urban legends. Paranormal Project has been to the house on numerous occasions and on each visit have experienced different sensations. A lot of negative energy has been sensed by the mediums we have taken to the location and although we have heard numerous theories about the origin of the haunting, the one story that keeps coming up has to do with the home owner murdering his family after getting back from World War II due to post traumatic stress. While we have not been able to find any solid evidence to confirm this yet, we continue to try and uncover the real story behind it all. This was the first location that Paranormal Project set out to investigate and in the numerous times we have visited this locations we have had many different occurrences throughout the years.
Feelings of being watched, very negative energies, figures out of the corner of our eye and on one occasion a large rustling noise that approached from the bushes surrounding the house that seemed to be completely invisible yet as the noise got closer and louder there was still nothing in sight. We have no shame in saying that we didn’t stick around for long after we could see the bushes themselves moving closer towards us and even after all the years of doing this and the things we have seen and encountered that still rates as one of the very very few times we have been scared off while doing an investigation.
While there are alot of theories that are out there regarding this house the one we have may be a little more in tune with what many be happening. On one of our last visits to the house we noticed some items and graffiti in the house that seemed to indicate that someone may have been performing dark magic in the house. While this house is completely abandoned it is on private property and both the neighbourhood watch and the police frequently check on the house due to its reputation so we strongly advise to stay away not only for the obvious legal action that could be taken but because the house itself is in a terrible state of disrepair and is extremely dangerous to even step foot in as the foundation of the house is nearly decayed and could give out at any moment.

Ernst Train Tunnel Gold Coast Australia
Ernst train tunnel was part of the old Brisbane to Gold Coast railway line otherwise known as The South Coast Railway. It was demolished in the early 60’s. Remnants of the train line are still evident even today, with the Ernst Tunnel being the most famous and popular. From several stories we have heard the more popular stories seem to revolve around a homeless man who was stabbed and killed while squatting in the tunnel one night who haunts it to this day and the other revolves around a little boy who haunts the tunnel that people have said they have witnessed.
We have done several investigations of the tunnel and in our research we found a link that may better explain the story of the boy. Upon looking through an old country paper we found an article relating to the train tunnel and the boy who may haunt the location. The article explained that when the rail line was used a boy and his mother were heading to brisbane and upon going through the tunnel the boy became extremely frightened, screaming and not able be pacified he broke into convulsions similar to an epileptic fit. While we have not been able to find much more relating to a boy and the tunnel it was interesting to see where one of the stories may have come from.
Upon investigating the site we have found various graffiti and items used in satanic rituals, be it kids playing around or something more sinister we cannot be sure but at this point we have not been able to find any solid evidence to prove any story relating to the tunnel nor have we found any substantial proof of a true haunting.
At this stage we believe that there may be something more to the tunnel, with what photographic and other evidence we have gathered, but further investigation is needed to come to a firm conclusion.
